Montessori
Named for Maria Montessori, the Montessori curriculum at Starlite Children’s Centre focuses on the need for children to have some freedom within the limitations of the centre.
The prepared environment is much different from the free flow High/Scope used in the morning, but greatly compliments it. The spaces set up during the Montessori hours in the afternoon foster self-directed learning and a relationship between the child and me that is based on trust and respect. This relationship fosters self-confidence and a willingness to try new things.
